The Opportunity:
The consortia can funnel and concentrate it registered agencies’ group travel and meeting business in one platform that will allow the consortia to track and understand this practice among its members. In addition it can negotiate and control the preferred supplier to interact and add benefits to its agencies, in regards to group and meeting travel, through this private labeled platform.
Benefits for the Consortia:
- Offer its registered travel agencies a platform that will make more efficient the way they negotiate group travel and meetings arrangements.
- Adopt a unique venue to concentrate group rates and meeting travel under one format for easy tracking, training and reporting.
- The ability for the consortia to keep track of group rate and meeting travel among registered agencies and preferred Vendors.
- Offer preferred vendors a proven tool for them to interact and participate on reverse auctions from the consortia for this type of traveling arrangements.
- Access to reports regarding the activity, demand and offer specifications going on inside the TTBT; wholesalers that are doing business, type of business, and usability statistics.
- Leverage the buying power of the consortia’s group and meeting business to increase revenues from preferred suppliers looking to compete for a piece of this profitable business.
Customization:
The TTBT will be designed and setup independently from other TTBT versions to operate under the trademarks and corporate image of the Consortia.
The TTBT can be linked to any current Web Page or Intranet through any type of links.
No implementation is required, the TTBT is independent and completely self reliable. Supplier and Agency will interact with their own interface under the look and feel decided by the Consortia.
Among the main structure of a TTBT there are:
- Supplier registration and approval (travel service suppliers).
- Agency registration and screening (wholesalers, tour operators, agencies, meeting planners and corporate travel managers)
- Internal message and e-mails system
- Tracking and customer service back office.
- Seller interface screen (tools).
- Buyer interface screen (tools).
Functionality / Tools:
- Agencies and Suppliers Directory:
This tool allows buyers and sellers to locate each other base don geographic, area of expertise, size and other metrics, returning the information regarding the company, the contact and business profile.
- Offers:
This tool allows the sellers to auction or setup a special offer on a specific block of inventory, excess or distressed products or anything a seller is interested in offering to buyers. Buyers can browse these
offers by date, category, commission level, activity, and other metrics, then having the ability to contact the seller or schedule an appointment in a private chat room hosted within the TTBT platform.
- Reverse Auctions and Negotiation:
This tool is similar to Offers but is initiated by a buyer, requesting any kind of product and service, detailing, objectively, conditions and requirements with a complementary degree of importance to reflect
the flexibility of how negotiable a requirement can be. This allows the seller to respond knowing which requirements can be negotiated and which ones are not flexible. Once sellers bid on a particular proposal,
the buyer chooses among the most interesting ones to follow up on negotiating each of the terms or to schedule an appointment on a private chat room. This tool also supports back and forward renegotiations among buyers and sellers.
- Private Chat Rooms and Appointments:
This functionality allows any buyer and seller to schedule appointments to meet on a private chat room where they have the freedom to chat about any offer, reverse auction, product, or destination they might be interested. The chat room has a section to write private notes for further references, and the option to open existing offers and proposal to use as references on the conversation.
The private chat room supports multiple participants related to the buyer and sellers side, allowing a seller’s sales person and its manager or director of operations to participate in a chat with the wholesalers and its account manager.
At the end of every chat or meeting there is a required evaluation screen where participants check on multiple-selection the outcome of the meeting. This information can be access to evaluate usage and efficiency.
Revenue:
Tourania and the Consortia will agree to charge the supplier an annual fee to participate on the TTBT or a commission on deals that has been transact within the TTBT. The Consortia will agree on a revenue share percentage for Tourania in the case of both the commission and the annual fee.
Cost:
There is a setup cost for the Consortia of US$8,000 with no maintenance cost. The most important aspect is that the cost of maintenance is supported by the suppliers who want to take part on the TTBT, or by sponsors interested in presenting the different sections of the TTBT.
TTBT is designed to host a sponsor on each functionality section without cluttering the user interface. Sponsorship opportunities can be setup by the consortia in order to cover the maintenance fee and generate additional revenues.
Marketing and Promotion:
The Consortia is responsible for the promotion and marketing of the TTBT platform among its agencies and preferred suppliers. Tourania will assist on presentation, training and any technical or operational aspect of these efforts.
